Manchester Central Library July 2028 Proposal
Following on from the proposal form that has been submitted, please find a little more information here along with two films that were shot at Central Library during my 2023/24 exhibition.
The first when Brandei Estes (former head of photography at Sotheby’s EMEA) visited to film a walkthrough and the second when Caterina Mestrovich (director of Atlas Gallery, London) visited to host the Q&A session in the performance space.

The principal question that needs answering, I suspect, is ‘why do you want to exhibit here again?’.
The answer to that is that Central Library has one of the largest and best exhibition spaces outside of a dedicated Museum in the North of England and this suits the amount of work that I need to display for it to make sense. Also the size of some of my work requires that it has a large space to breath. Without this space, my previous exhibition wouldn’t have been as well received. Allowing ‘The Sky Above Her’ pictures to have a wall to themselves was central in them making such an impact. Also being able to spread my documentary work out into its various genre was crucial to the reviews it received especially from the visitor from Sotheby’s.
In the time between the small show of my work with you that was curtailed by Covid and the exhibition that has just finished, I have been shown and sold work internationally and gained representation by a London gallery. I will be continuing the work necessary to have this awareness of my work increase over the next four years and with what I learned about marketing this past exhibition, will be bringing many more people to the proposed 2028 or 29 show.
My work is ever evolving and the success of ‘The Sky Above Her’ has allowed me to further my career with leads to new galleries both nationally and internationally. I am most grateful to Central Library for this and would like the opportunity to return in four years to share the continuing success of my art with the people of Manchester and the North West where I have spent my whole life.
Also, as you are aware, I am passionate about how immaculate the exhibition space is presented and kept throughout the run and extremely aware of the support that the staff of Central Library give to make the exhibition successful.
I hope to work with you all again in the future.
