As if from another era. They’re not planned that way, it’s just how they appear.
One day they will be from another era.
I’m not going to bang on about how they’re shot on film but they are in black and white for a reason.
For me, as a photographer, Pride is just too colourful. There’s too much distraction in a picture. All the colours draw the eye to a particular place in the frame and away from the main subject and that’s the people.
The human element should always be the focal point of a street photograph for me.
But mainly - Black and white are the colours of history.
